Octo Engineering Inc. is a private engineering firm that was founded in 2014 by Scott Riley Wilson, Professional Engineer. The company name OCTO was derived after the number 8 and the birth date of his son, who was born on the 8th day of October.
OCTO is an acronym for its core values - Ownership - Customer Oriented - Transparency - Output Oriented.
In 2014, Octo Engineering Inc. started as a sole proprietorship, but the company did not start regular business until 2017 following Scott’s lay off. What seemed to be a halt in his career has turned into a life changing opportunity to work for himself and hone his craft, cultivate what matters and build a legacy that lives on through the company. The business was incorporated on April 1, 2019.
Octo Engineering started operating its business in 100 Mile House, BC in February 2017. The field office in Kamloops was founded in 2019 but was closed in December 2022 in order for the company to focus in the Cariboo and other surrounding areas.
Early 2020 Scott decided to move the head office to Williams Lake, BC because it is the central part of the region and where he feels at home. The headquarter building in Williams Lake was acquired by the company in September 2021.
Because the company strives in putting PURPOSE BEFORE PROFIT Octo Engineering Inc. purchased another building in the city of Quesnel, BC as the company saw the need of engineering services that are accessible and economical for its residents and other people within the neighboring areas. The acquisition, market penetration and expansion allows high potential growth for the company as well.

Octo Engineering Inc specializes in Structural, Civil, Geotechnical and Forestry. It’s mission is to provide quality work that is dependable and cost-effective. The business does more than 500 projects a year.
